1.
A wheel I can't spin and a fight I can't win-- I can't even close a bad deal. It's dumped in my lap and the victor's sharp clap Is closer than I care to reveal. Classical looks, don't know what it took, But I've got the devil to pay. If I'd avoid circumstance, not depend so on chance, Things might have worked today. What good does it do me if you should see through me-- Resigned to one corner or waste. Subtlety's lost and my gain is my cost, And I think my sunshine was laced. Spin on your heel if you doubt what you feel; The past has taught me to be still. If you can deny it, I guess I won't try it; There's plenty of others who will. What silver lining? The bright side's reclining Before I am able to crawl. No sunny-side-upper, I've eaten no supper, And losers must wait in the hall. You extend those lines, I pursue every time, Then you jerk them away with a smile. I always get burned as the temperature's turned, And I haven't been cool for a while.

about

Out-of-print LP by Junction 51. Copyright Vague She Music, 1997. All rights reserved. "Bull in a China Shop" was my first outing in a professional studio. The full-length record features the same musicians who played in the band Fling (also listed in this discography), but at the time of this recording -- during our high school years -- we were called Junction 51.
